Dr. Lori Kay

Lori K. Kay, Au.D. has been working as an audiologist since 1991. Originally from Ohio and an avid Ohio State University Buckeye fan, Dr. Kay has worked with all age groups. She loves working with adults to help them overcome their hearing difficulties and to improve their quality of life. Seeing individuals reconnecting with their family and friends because they can hear again gives her great satisfaction. Dr. Kay has worked with a rehabilitation company in North Carolina, as an Executive Director of a non-profit Speech and Hearing Center in Florida, and in private practice both in New Mexico and Texas.

Dr. Kay encourages family members to attend appointments with their loved one as hearing loss not only affects the individual but the family as well. Learning how to help the individual receive the most benefit from the hearing aids requires a team effort in order for the individual to be successful. Continuing education is important to Dr. Kay. She attends the American Academy of Audiology conventions, attends training courses provided by hearing aid manufacturers, and takes some online courses. Dr. Kay believes that continuing her education allows her to bring a higher quality of care to her patients.

Dr. Kay enjoys spending time with her husband, a United States Air Force Veteran and their two dogs. They like to travel and spend time with family. When Dr. Kay gets any “spare time” she enjoys scrapbooking family photos, making cards for special occasions, and reading.

I have been wearing hearing aides since 1983. I have used Sound Works a number of times now and find them to be very professional and accommodating. With each visit Glen has solved my problem. I have recommended them to several of my friends one of which purchased aids.

I went to Sound works today for my hearing checkup. I was in and out within 10 minutes. Kelvin was very nice and did a great job. I really like Sound Works. Their the best place to go get your hearing checked, and get hearing aids.

Seems they didn’t manage to get my name right but that’s ok. They were extremely helpful in giving me options. While my high pitch hearing ability is great, my mid and low tone are below average making most communications sound muffled. This put me in a place where I can...

I have to say I really had a great experience at Soundworks. I had gone to another hearing center in Weatherford and it seemed all they were interested in doing was selling me their most expensive hearing aids. I found the audiologist at Soundworks really took her time in evaluating...

The lady at the front desk was a pleasure to work with. The prices were a little high. I was not expecting to pay as much as Required. That’s just the way things are these days. Your services were good.

Had my scheduled appointment today for sound level adjustment, cleaning, and uploading of Thrive App. Met with William's "replacement", Judy. Had a very pleasant appointment. Will miss William; but, happy that he has moved to a location more convenient for him. Will return in four months for follow-up appointment with...
